Day 5Ngorongoro Highlands, Tanzania | Meals: B L D

After an early breakfast you will depart by road to the Namanga border crossing with picnic lunches. Here you will clear customs and immigration formalities and exchange vehicles. Continue your drive to the agricultural area in the Ngorongoro highland, enjoying the topography to arrive Gibb’s Farm in time for late lunch.

Every day at Gibb’s farm is an adventure – whether visiting the Ngorongoro Crater, cycling through the back roads of Karatu, enjoying a walk through the farm’s organic vegetable and terraced flower gardens, learning about the Iraqw culture or exploring the waterfalls and elephant caves, there is always plenty to do. And if that sounds like a handful, after it all you can indulge in one of the indigenous Maasai healing treatments offered at Gibb’s Farm African Spa. Overnight at Gibb’s Farm

Day 6Explore Ngorongoro Crater | Meals: B L D

Ngorongoro Crater is a geological spectacle – a 260 square kilometre caldera which was formed three million years ago when a giant active volcano exploded and collapsed about 3 million years ago and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1978.

Today it’s a wildlife haven for lion, elephant, hyena, buffalo, large herds of wildebeest and zebra and the highly endangered black rhino and many other species living on the mineral rich pastures of the largely flat crater floor. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area stretches from the highlands to the north of the crater down to the Serengeti plains in the south and the Olduvai Gorge, land which has been part of the Masai peoples nomadic route for centuries and the peaceful co-existence of humans and wildlife of the past centuries continues today. A picnic lunch is provided. Overnight at Gibb’s Farm

Days 7-9Game Drives in Serengeti National Park | Meals: B L D

You are transferred to nearby Manyara airstrip for a scheduled flight to Serengeti. Upon arrival you are met and transferred to your luxury lodge, your base for exploring the vast and spectacular Serengeti plains!

Offering unrivaled luxury, Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge is situated in the Wogakurya Hills, close to the Mara River on the Tanzanian side of the border and within the main corridor of the world-famous wildebeest migration. Large boulders and kopjes form the prominent features of the site and each guest tent has been carefully positioned amongst these to ensure privacy and spectacular vistas over the gentle grassed slopes, open woodland and tree lined watercourses, which all make up the scenic north Serengeti landscape.

The lodge is designed and furnished in plush comforts and style; the tents are spacious, with wooden floors and king size beds, and each tent featuring a private deck and outdoor shower.
