Of course, we’ve allowed time for shopping as well!

Itinerary
This is a suggested self-drive itinerary. Our Specialists will work with you to create an itinerary to meet your preferences.

Day 1Departure from US

Day 2Arrive Stockholm, Sweden

Transfer from the airport to the city center via express airport train. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the capital of Sweden. You might want an optional guided tour, such as a cruise through the Archipelago, a visit to Drottningholm Palace, the ABBA Museum and more. You can also venture out on your own to see history in the Vasa Museum, Skansen, the Nobel Center, or City Hall. Overnight in Stockholm

Day 3See the City of Stockholm | Meals: B

Today is open to continue your exploration of Stockholm. Want to shop? Try Gamla Stan (Old Town) or the boutiques of Östermalm or Södermalm districts. Feeling more adventurous? Take a Ghost Walk, hike across the rooftops of the city, or eat your way around the town on a food tour. Overnight in Stockholm

Day 4Start Your Self-Drive | Meals: B

Pick up your rental car in Stockholm, then begin your self-drive. Head south down to Växjö, located in the province of Småland. Perhaps you would like to visit the House of Emigrants or the medieval fairytale castle, Teleborg, on your way. Overnight in Växjö

Day 5Kingdom of Crystal | Meals: B

Spend the day discovering the Kingdom of Crystal, Sweden’s area of well-known glass makers. Visit various crystal factories, each with its own technique. You will find great bargains in the factory shops and have the chance to visit their adjoining museums. Time permitting, you may visit the southeast seaside town of Kalmar. Overnight in Växjö

Day 6Driving to Dalarna | Meals: B

Drive from Småland north to Örebro today, enjoying the sights of central Sweden – may wish to skirt one of the large lakes en route. Once there, you can see the Örebro Castle which dates from the 13th century. Also nearby is the Wadköping Open Air Museum, where old buildings now hold shops, craft workshops, museums, and exhibition venues. Overnight in Örebro

Day 7-8Days in Dalarna | Meals: B D

Use these days to explore some highlights of the Dalarna region, such as the Dala Horse factory in Nusnäs, the Anders Zorn Museum in Mora, and Carl Larsson’s home in Sundborn. Another site of interest is Rättvik Church with its hundreds of tiny wooden “houses” used centuries ago to stable horses in winter while the owners attended long church services. You also might like to enjoy the beautiful countryside by hiking, biking, on a boat ride, or spending the day relaxing by magnificent Lake Siljan. Dinner will be provided at your hotel. Overnight in Tällberg

Day 9Return to Stockholm | Meals: B

The day is at your leisure driving to Stockholm, with options to stop along the way, such as in the town of Uppsala.
