Day 1Departure from US

Day 2Arrive Oslo, Norway

Arrive in Oslo and transfer via airport train Flytoget into city center. Explore Oslo at your leisure today. Oslo is a nature centric city, with greenery and wooded areas never far away. Perhaps enjoy a stroll along the pedestrian shopping street Karl Johan’s Gate or enjoy a drink in the trendy Aker Brygge area. Meet your Tour Host for a short briefing this evening. Overnight: Oslo hotel

Day 3Lillehammer - Lom - Geiranger | Meals: B D

Departing Oslo, you will stop in Lillehammer to see the site of the main activities in the 1994 Olympics. From there you have a bit of a drive north, traveling through the mountains and forests of central Norway. A visit in Lom to see the 12th century stavkirke there will be made along the way. Continue through the Otta Valley into Geiranger. Dinner and Overnight: Geiranger hotel

Day 4Geiranger - Balestrand | Meals: B D

Embark on a one-hour cruise along the UNESCO-listed Geirangerfjord. Along the way you will see the impressive Seven Sisters and Bridal Veil waterfalls. You will disembark in Hellesylt and continue south in your coach, via the Nord fjord. Stops en route to delight in a Norwegian waffle break and to enjoy a sensational viewpoint. Your next stop is Balestrand along the shores of the “King of the Fjords” Sognefjord. Arrive this afternoon, then partake in a tasting of the locally made cider. Relish dinner at your hotel looking out on the idyllic fjord. Dinner and Overnight: Balestrand hotel

Day 5Balestrand - Flåm Railway - Bergen | Meals: B

One of the most famous routes in Norway is the route between Gudvangen and Myrdal where you travel via boat and then train to see some of the most stunning views the country offers. To begin, your escort will take you via local ferries to Gudvangen where you will board a 1.5-2 hour cruise along the famous Nærøyfjord. The cruise ends in Flåm where you will have some time to relax before boarding the historic train for the excellent Flåmsbana train journey. This hour-long ride takes you through mountains as you ascend from the fjord valley, slowing down and even stopping at the most scenic spots. In Myrdal, board the high-speed train bound for Voss where you will meet up with your bus again for the rest of the journey to Bergen. Overnight in Bergen

Day 6Touring Bergen | Meals: B

Enjoy a guided walk through Bergen’s historic city center while hearing about and seeing the impact of the local fishing industry, Bergen’s involvement in WWII, and the trade group the Hanseatic League. The rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy the city independently with the option to join a scenic bus tour along the coast. Overnight in Bergen

Day 7Bergen - Hardangerfjord - Geilo | Meals: B D

Start the day by taking the funicular up Mount Fløyen for amazing views. Your journey then continues east, heading into the Hardangerfjord area, with its romantic fruit orchards and rounded mountains. Stop at Vøringsfoss waterfall, with a vertical drop of 180 meters. Continue along the Hardangervidda Mountain Plateau to the ski resort town of Geilo. Dinner and Overnight: Geilo hotel

Day 8Oslo | Meals: B D

Today you will return to Norway’s capital city of Oslo via the Hallingdal Valley. Upon arrival, you will have a city tour, including a visit to Vigeland Sculpture Garden, the Royal Palace, the glacial Opera House, City Hall and concludes with a visit to the Fram Museum. The evening is at your leisure. Overnight: Oslo hotel

Day 9Oslo departure | Meals: B

Transfer via Flytoget airport train to Oslo Gardermoen airport for check-in for return flight to the US.

COPENHAGEN extension:

Day 9Oslo - at sea | B D

Your morning is free to continue exploring Oslo, visiting museums or shopping for souvenirs. In the late afternoon, you will be transferred to the pier for embarkation of the DFDS Seaways overnight cruise to Copenhagen. Enjoy the sunset view heading out through the Oslo Fjord from the deck or while enjoying the delicious buffet on board. Overnight: on board cabin

Day 10Copenhagen | B

Morning arrival in Copenhagen. After a city tour with your tour escort, transfer to your accommodation. Head out to explore the Danish capital. Founded in the 10th century, the Danish capital is now a city full of beautiful buildings and exciting museums. Enjoy a walk along Strøget, one of the longest pedestrian streets in Europe, or enjoy a cup of coffee in one of the many outdoor cafés in the old port area of Nyhavn, or maybe take a canal tour. Overnight: Copenhagen hotel

Day 11Copenhagen departure | B

Transfer on own to Copenhagen Kastrup airport for check-in for return flight to the US – or, extend your stay in Scandinavia.
