This escorted tour of Scandinavia includes Denmark’s fairytale capital of Copenhagen, the historic trade and cozy city Bergen, Norway’s cosmopolitan capital Oslo, and Sweden’s stunning capital city Stockholm. Travel by land and sea between Denmark, Norway and Sweden – with visits to other towns and the fjord region along the way, plus the scenic Flåm Railway.

Day 1Departure from US

Day 2Arrive Copenhagen, Denmark

Arrive into Copenhagen airport and make your own way to your central accommodation (or private transfer can be added). Discover the city at your own pace. You will meet your tour leader at the hotel reception. Overnight in Copenhagen

Day 3Copenhagen - Aarhus | Meals: B

After breakfast at the hotel, a local guide will take you for a panoramic tour of the capital of Denmark. This thousand year old city offers historical charm and modern amenities. During the tour you´ll have the chance to
appreciate the old architecture, and the famous district of Nyhavn (Optional: Classic Canal Tour), we will pass alongside Amalienborg Palace – home to the Royal family of Denmark, Christianborg Palace – where
the Danish parliament sits, the old stock exchange, and the National Museum. You will end the tour with a
Copenhagen favorite: the Little Mermaid statue. In the afternoon, departure to the northwest part of Sealand Island, taking the ferry from Odden to Aarhus, located on the main peninsula of Jutland. Overnight in Aarhus

Day 4Aarhus - North Jutland - at sea | Meals: B D

Breakfast in the hotel. In the morning, a historical tour with local guide through Aarhus, the second most populous city in Denmark. Its strategic location made it an important Viking city, and later a flourishing commercial place. Free time to continue discovering the city on your own. In the afternoon, we will continue to the North of Denmark to the town of
Hirtshals, where we board an overnight cruise to Norway, with dinner. Overnight on board seaview cabin

Day 5Stavanger & Pulpit Rock | B

After arrival in Stavanger breakfast at hotel or restaurant. In the morning take part in a panoramic walk with your Tour Leader to discover the charming old town of Stavanger. Remainder of the day is free. We recommend doing one of the two optional activities:
Option A: 3-hour Cruise on the Lysefjord, under Pulpit Rock.
Option B: Lysefjord Cruise + Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) Climb – full day excursion. (Note: Travelers choosing Option B will not take the morning tour of Stavanger).
Overnight in Stavanger

Day 6Stavanger - Bergen | Meals: B

Breakfast at the hotel. Tour continues by coach up to Bergen, via ferry from Mortavika to Årsvågen and from Sandvikvåg to Halhjem. Arrival in Bergen with free time for lunch. In the afternoon, panoramic tour of Bergen with
a local guide to see the most emblematic places of the city, including the famous fish market and the Hanseatic quarter, a World Heritage Site (UNESCO). You will have a chance to take a ride with the Floibanen funicular to the top of Mount Fløyen, offering magnificent views of the city and its surrounding landscapes. Overnight in Bergen

Day 7Bergen - Flåm - Balestrand | Meals: B D

After breakfast, we head to Voss to start our train trip, ascending almost 900 meters with incredible views, to
the mountain railway station of Myrdal. Board the famous Flam Railway Flåmsbana – one of the steepest
trainlines in the world. The train journey runs through fantastic nature, steep mountains, waterfalls and no less than 20 tunnels, offering many scenic viewpoints. Upon arrival in Flåm, enjoy some leisure time to explore the picturesque
village between the fjords. The journey continues by cruise on the Sognefjord to the town of Balestrand, a rural area surrounded by nature. The initial branch we sail, called Aurlandsfjord, is a 17-km arm of the world’s second longest fjord, the Sognefjord (204 km) – Norway’s longest and one of the most picturesque fjords in the world. Day 8Balestrand - Borgund - Oslo | Meals: B

Breakfast in the hotel. We continue our route through mountains, valleys and incredible landscapes with numerous villages scattered by nature, taking the ferries. We will make a stop to visit the Borgund Church, a wooden stave church dating back to 1180 AD. In the afternoon, we will continue to Lake Tyrifjord and arrive in Oslo. Overnight in Oslo

Day 9Oslo - Karlstad | Meals: B

Breakfast at the hotel. Guided tour of Oslo this morning – including Frogner Park with the Vigeland sculpture complex, passing City Hall, the Royal Palace, and the modern Opera. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon, departure to Sweden by coach. Arrival in Karlstad, located in the delta formed by two of Sweden’s great natural waterways: the Klara River and the impressive Lake Vänern. Overnight in Karlstad

Day 10Karlstad - Stockholm | Meals: B

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning departure to the East and onward to Stockholm – the Swedish capital, built on 14 islands. Surrounded by the Lake Mälaren and the Baltic Sea, with its grand public buildings, palaces, rich cultural history and museums tell its beautiful 700-year history. Upon arrival in Stockholm, we will enjoy a panoramic tour of the city with a local guide, visiting the old town “Gamla Stan”, with its network of small squares and cobbled streets, and we will see the exteriors of the Royal Palace, the Cathedral and the Parliament. Overnight in Stockholm

Day 11Depart Stockholm, Sweden | Meals: B

Our tour ends after breakfast. Transfer via express train to Stockholm’s Arlanda airport for your return flight to the US — or extend your stay in Scandinavia!

  • Lysefjord Cruise & Pulpit Rock Climb – From the fjord to the mountaintop, this fjord cruise from Stavanger to Lysefjord is combined with a spectacular hike to world famous Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock). See the panoramic view from the plateau!
  • Classic Canal Tour – Enjoy a one-hour canal tour around Copenhagen’s harbor and through the idyllic canals. Your guide will tell you about the beautiful churches, castles, houses, and hidden gems along the way.
  • Royal Canal Tour – Embark on a boat tour through the beautiful Djurgården Canal in Stockholm, known for its great views of the royal gardens and historic buildings and museums on the island Djurgården – with guided commentary.
