Denmark is home to the great fairy tale author Hans Christian Andersen, and the famous toy Legos. While traveling passed castles, over oceans, and through gorgeous scenery you will have the opportunity to experience the magic of Andersen’s Denmark, as well as the modern wonder of Legoland.

Day 1Departure from US

Day 2Arrive Copenhagen, Denmark

Make your way independently from the Copenhagen Airport to your hotel. This afternoon enjoy a sightseeing tour by boat to see the highlights of Denmark’s capital. Departing from the picturesque Nyhavn, this guided boat tour with a live guide will take you through Copenhagen’s canals for a brief introduction to all that the city has to offer. You will see old and new houses, churches, palaces, and of course, the Little Mermaid statue that honors Hans Christian Andersen’s famous story! Your tour ends at the world famous Tivoli Gardens, where entrance to the amusement park is included. Overnight in Copenhagen

Day 3Castles and Countryside | Meals: B

Today, enjoy a guided bus tour to Denmark’s most famous castles. This sightseeing tour will take you just north of Copenhagen traveling along the Riviera road to Helsingør, enjoying a beautiful view of the Øresund Strait all the way. You will visit Frederiksborg Castle and its Castle Gardens, as well as the fictional home of Hamlet, Kronborg, named Elsinore in Shakespeare’s famous drama. The last stop is a photo opportunity at Fredensborg Palace, the palace most commonly used by the Danish royal family. Overnight in Copenhagen

Day 4Danish Fairytales | Meals: B

Pick up your car and drive from Copenhagen and Sealand Island to Funen Island. Perhaps stop in Roskilde and visit the Viking Ship Museum there, or head directly to Odense to spend the afternoon there. Odense is Funen’s capital and also the birthplace of famous fairy tale author Hans Christian Andersen. In Odense, a visit to the Hans Christian Andersen Museum and his Childhood Home is recommended. Overnight in Odense

Day 5Journey to Legoland | Meals: B

At your leisure, drive from Odense to Billund on the main peninsula Jutland. Billund is home to Lego Headquarters. For the next two days you will be staying at Hotel Legoland, located just steps from Legoland, with entrance to the park included. At Hotel Legoland, families stay in different Lego-themed rooms like Ninjago, Friends, Knights, Pirates, and more. Overnight at Legoland in Billund

Day 6Legos, Legos, Legos | Meals: B

Spend the day at Legoland, exploring the park. Legoland is comprised of many different areas, ranging from Pirate Land to Miniland, to the Imagination Zone. There are over 50 rides that the whole family can enjoy, including waterpark rides. Overnight at Legoland in Billund

Day 7Exploring the Countryside | Meals: B

Make the drive back to Copenhagen. The day is yours to explore sights along the way or in Copenhagen. Return your rental car tonight. Overnight in Copenhagen

Day 8Depart Copenhagen, Denmark | Meals: B

Independently transfer to the airport for your return flights to the US – or extend your stay in Scandinavia!
