Day 1Departure from the US

Day 2Arrive Reykjavik, Iceland - food tour | Meals: L

Arrive Iceland and transfer via airport coach into Reykjavik city center. This afternoon enjoy a three hour guided walking tour of Reykjavik, where you will be tasting various Icelandic foods along the way. Remainder of day at leisure to relax in Iceland’s capital city. Overnight in Reykjavík

Day 3Reykjavik & Sky Lagoon | Meals: B

Explore Reykjavik at your leisure, such as Perlan Museum with its 360-degree panorama views over Reykjavik, a small ice cave, Wonders of Iceland exhibit, and Northern Lights planetarium show. Transfer to nearby Sky Lagoon, a geothermal spa located on the outskirts of Reykjavik. Relax your mind, body, and soul with the 7-step spa ritual, with the backdrop of the North Atlantic Ocean. Return transfer to Reykjavik. Overnight in Reykjavík

Day 4Iceland’s South Coast | Meals: B

Pick-up your rental car this morning and head to Iceland’s scenic south coast. You may wish to explore some of the sights of the south on your way to the city of Vík, such as the arch of Dyrholaey, a 400-foot high promontory, along with Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls. At Seljalandsfoss, it is possible to walk behind the waterfall if the temperatures aren’t below freezing. Overnight in Vík

Day 5Ice Cave Under the Volcano - Vik | Meals: B

Today indulge in a three hour excursion from Vik, the Katla Ice Cave Under the Volcano tour. Travel by super jeep to the edge of Kötlujökull glacier, then a short walk on the glacier to the entrance of a natural ice cave. Experience the layers of different colored ice and volcanic ash, and learn of the cave’s history. All equipment is provided. After returning to Vik, remainder of day for independent exploration of the surrounding sights of South Iceland, starting with Vik’s black sand beach and soaring basalt rock formations. Overnight in Vík

Day 6Golden Circle to Hveragerði | Meals: B

Explore the famous tourist route, “The Golden Circle,” at your own pace. Visit the multi-tiered waterfall Gullfoss, the frequently-erupting hot springs at Geysir, the geologically and historically significant Þingvellir (Thingvellir) National Park, and Kerid Crater. Option to also check out the Nesjavellir geothermal power plant. Continue to the town of Hveragerði, which has a hot springs hiking trail and a geothermal park with mud baths. Overnight in Hveragerði

Day 7Reykjanes Peninsula, Depart Iceland | Meals: B

Take your time on your drive to the airport today. Explore the sights of the Reykjanes Peninsula, including lava fields, hot steam/spring area, colorful lake, the Bridge Between Two Continents, lighthouses and black sea-side cliffs. Option to also experience the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa (advance reservation required). Drop your car at Keflavík Airport, then board your return flight to the US – or extend your stay in Scandinavia!
