We are thrilled to offer our seventh Christmas-themed Signature Journey! This year we’re taking you to two Scandinavian capitals: “Wonderful Copenhagen” in Denmark, and to scenic Oslo in Norway.

Join a Borton Overseas Scandinavia Specialist on this festive pre-holiday trip to experience the sights, sounds, and tastes of Scandinavia at Christmas. Enjoy guided city experiences, an overnight cruise on a modern ferry ship, local food and traditions, and visit Christmas markets in both cities – plus free time for individual exploration & shopping!

Sat, Dec. 2 -Departure from US

The group departs from Minneapolis/St. Paul international airport on an overnight flight. Borton Overseas can assist with arrangements for departures from other US locations – please inquire!

Sun, Dec. 3 -Arrive in Copenhagen, Denmark | Meals: D

Change to connecting flight onward, for arrival into Copenhagen, Denmark, in the afternoon. Transfer by coach from the airport into city center for check-in at the group’s central hotel. Tonight, enjoy a welcome dinner as a group and toast to the first day of our adventure. Overnight at Copenhagen hotel

Mon, Dec. 4 -Copenhagen Sightseeing & Christmas Market | Meals: B

After breakfast at the hotel, we enjoy a three-hour tour of the city with a local guide. On this tour, we’ll see some of the highlights of Copenhagen, including classic historic sites like the Little Mermaid Statue, Amalienborg Palace, and more. After the tour, we’ll be taken to one of Copenhagen’s bustling Christmas Markets! Here you’ll have time to explore and shop on your own. After a few hours of shopping, the coach will return the group to our hotel, or you can choose to continue to shop and return to the hotel independently. The remainder of the day will be at leisure. Tue, Dec. 5 -Copenhagen Market & Exploration | Meals: B

After breakfast at the hotel, your day is free to continue to explore the Christmas markets across Copenhagen. A coach transfer will be provided to a new market this morning, with a few hours free to shop before a return transfer will be provided back to the hotel. Or, you can choose to continue shopping and sightseeing independently and return to the hotel at your own pace. Copenhagen was named this year’s UNESCO World Capital of Architecture, If you are more interested in leaving the city, you may wish to take the train to the nearby town of Roskilde to visit the Viking Museum there, or train north to visit Shakespeare’s inspiration for Hamlet’s Elsinore, Kronborg Castle, or train to Hillerød to experience beautiful Frederiksborg Castle. Wed, Dec. 6 - Copenhagen - Overnight Cruise | Meals: B D

Breakfast at the hotel. Your morning is free to take in any last minute shopping or sightseeing. This afternoon, we will transfer to the ferry terminal and board the DFDS vessel for an overnight cruise to Oslo, Norway. After dinner in the Seven Seas Restaurant, you will have several opportunities to relax and enjoy yourself. Onboard, you can enjoy a cocktail at the bar, listen to live music, relax in the sauna or jacuzzi, or pamper yourself with a treatment. There is also tax free shopping available on board. Overnight in an on-board cabin

Thur, Dec. 7 - Arrive in Oslo, Norway | Meals: B

Breakfast on board. On arrival in Oslo, we will disembark and meet our guide for a 3-hour sightseeing tour of Oslo. Highlights include a stroll through Vigelandsparken, the largest single artist sculpture garden in the world, and a conclusion on the island Bygdøy to see the many museums there, including the Folk Museum with stave church. Then time to visit one of Oslo’s Christmas Markets at Bærums Verk. The group will stay with free time to shop at the market before transfer by coach to our hotel for check-in. Your evening is free to continue to explore Oslo independently. Overnight at Oslo hotel

Fri, Dec. 8 -Oslo Christmas Market & Exploration | Meals: B

Breakfast at the hotel. We will transfer as a group to the Christmas market located at the square at the Norwegian Parliament building for a few hours of shopping before transferring back to the hotel. Or, you can choose to continue to shop on your own. Your afternoon and evening are free. Overnight at Oslo hotel

Sat, Dec. 9 -Oslo | Meals: B D

Breakfast at the hotel. Your day is free to continue to enjoy the Christmas markets or sightsee independently. A visit to Akershus Fortress or the new Munch museum are suggested options. Tonight, our group will gather for a festive final farewell dinner.

Sun, Dec. 10 -Depart Norway to US | Meals: B

Breakfast at the hotel. Late morning transfer from hotel to Oslo airport for check-in for the group’s departure flight back to the Twin Cities MN – or extend your stay in Scandinavia!
