Borton Overseas Scandinavia Specialist Betina Kohler will accompany the group on its departure from Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport on Icelandair at 3:22 p.m. Borton Overseas can assist with arrangements for departures from other US locations – please inquire!

Mon, Dec. 27-Arrive Copenhagen, Denmark | Meals: D

After a morning plane change in Amsterdam, continue to Copenhagen, Denmark with arrival into Kastrup Airport at 9:10 a.m. After collecting our luggage, we will take a three-hour city tour to see the sights of Copenhagen before checking-in at our hotel. This evening, a welcome dinner will be provided at a restaurant inside Tivoli Gardens! Overnight at The Square Hotel

Today is at your leisure to explore Copenhagen. Overnight at The Square Hotel

Excursion Options Today:
• Hop on Hop off Bus & Boat | Duration: Valid for 48 hours from first use, $39 per person
Combine the Classic Copenhagen bus tour with a tour along the canals and see all the main attractions. In winter season the boat sails without stops on the way and only the classic bus tour runs. The classic tour includes stops at Rosenborg Castle, the Little Mermaid, the Black Diamond, the National Gallery of Denmark, and Amalienborg Palace. A roundtrip takes approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes.
• Classic Hop on Hop off Bus & Tivoli | Duration: Valid for 24 hours from first use and one entrance at Tivoli, $45 per person
Not interested in a ride through the canal and you’d rather spend the time at Tivoli? This is the option for you! Enjoy the classic Hop on Hop off Bus Tour and one entrance to Tivoli that day.
• The Grand Tour | Duration: 1 hour, $15 per person
Departing from Ved Stranden, a short walk from the hotel, this boat tour with a live guide will take you through Copenhagen’s canals passed all that the city has to offer. You will see old and new houses, churches, palaces, and more!
• The Grand Tour and Tivoli | Duration: 1+ hour, $36 per person
A guided tour around the harbor and through the idyllic canals where your guide will tell you about Copenhagen’s beautiful churches, castles, old listed houses, new buildings, and all other sights of interest. The classic harbor tour departs from Nyhavn or Gammel Strand and passes some of Copenhagen’s best sights and attractions. After the canal tour, you can enjoy the world-famous Tivoli. With this ticket, you skip the line at Tivoli.

Wed, Dec. 29-Travel to the Faroe Islands | Meals: B D

After breakfast at the hotel, we will transfer as a group to the airport for check-in for the flight to the Faroe Islands. We depart Copenhagen at 11:05 a.m. and arrive in Vagar Airport at 12:20 p.m. Upon arrival, we will transfer by bus to our hotel in Torshavn for check-in. The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure. Group dinner together at the hotel this evening. Overnight at Hotel Hafnia

Thur, Dec. 30-Exploring the Faroes | Meals: B L

Today we will explore outside of the capital to see what the islands have to offer. We will drive north and over the bridge to Eysturoy, past the village of Eiði, and below the highest mountain in the Faroes, Slættaratindur, at 882 meters above sea level. Along the route, we will also pass by Gjógv, a small village with a natural harbor. The narrow ravine has high cliffs on both sides. We will also see the Giant and the Witch, Funningur, with a stop for lunch along the way. Overnight at Hotel Hafnia

Fri, Dec. 31-New Year's Eve | Meals: B D

This morning, we will have a private, guided walking tour of Tórshavn city. Our guide will take us about the old part of Tórshavn, Reyn and Tinganes. Tórshavn is a unique town built in the Middle Ages, filled with winding lanes, narrow passages, and tiny black-tarred houses. After the tour, you’ll have some down time before the evening festivities.
At 7:00 p.m., the group will be transferred to Hotel Føroyar to ring in the New Year, beginning with a 4-course meal. Hotel Føroyar has a spectacular view over the capital, with the best view in town for the fireworks at midnight from the roof! Overnight at Hotel Hafnia

Sat, Jan. 1-Depart Tórshavn | Meals: B D

After last night’s celebration, sleep in this morning, then get ready for our departure from the Faroe Islands. We will leave the hotel at 11:15 a.m. and transfer to the airport for our flight, departing the Faroes at 1:10 p.m. this afternoon. Our landing in Copenhagen is at 4:15 p.m. On arrival, we will check-in at our airport accommodation. A farewell dinner will be provided at the hotel. Overnight at Clarion Hotel Copenhagen Airport

Sun, Jan. 2-Depart Copenhagen, Denmark | Meals: B

Partake in one last Scandinavian breakfast this morning. We meet in the lobby this morning to walk over to the terminal for check-in for our flight, departing Copenhagen at 2:10 p.m. We will stop in Amsterdam, where we will change planes and arrive back in Minneapolis St. Paul at 6:50 p.m.
