Saturday, December 28Arrive Copenhagen, Denmark | Meals: D

We arrive in Iceland at 6:30 a.m., and change planes, departing at 7:45 a.m. Our arrival in Copenhagen is at 11:55 a.m. After collecting our luggage, we will take a three-hour city tour to see the sights of Copenhagen before checking-in at our airport hotel. This evening, a welcome dinner will be provided at our hotel. Overnight at Clarion Airport Hotel

Sunday, December 29Arrive Tórshavn, Faroe Islands | Meals: B D

After breakfast at the hotel, we will travel as a group to the departure terminal to check-in for our flight to Tórshavn. We depart Copenhagen at 12:15 p.m. and arrive in Tórshavn at 1:40 p.m. Upon arrival, we will transfer by bus to our hotel for check-in. The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure. Tonight, we’ll enjoy dinner together at the hotel. Overnight at Hotel Hafnia

Monday, December 30Explore the Faroes| Meals: B

This morning, we will have a private, guided walking tour of the Tórshavn. Our guide will take us about the old part of Tórshavn, Reyn and Tinganes. Tórshavn is a unique town built in the Middle Ages, filled with winding lanes, narrow passages, and tiny black-tarred houses. The rest of the day is open for you to discover more of the delights of the city, shopping for Faroese handiwork and art, dining, or viewing the sites at the marina. Overnight at Hotel Hafnia

Tuesday, December 31New Year's Eve | Meals: B L D

The final day of 2019 begins with a private, guided bus tour of the Faroes. We will drive north and over the bridge to Eysturoy, past the village of Eiði, and below the highest mountain in the Faroes, Slættaratindur, at 882 meters above sea level. Along the route we will also pass by Gjógv, a small village with a natural harbor. The narrow ravine has high cliffs on both sides. We will also see the Giant and the Witch, Funningur, and stop for lunch in the village of Søldarfjørður before driving back to Tórshavn. After the tour, we will be dropped off at the hotel to freshen up before the big celebration this evening.

At 7:00 p.m., the group will be transferred to Hotel Føroyar to ring in the New Year. Hotel Føroyar has a spectacular view over the capital, with the absolute best view in town for the fireworks at midnight! Upon arrival, we are presented with a welcome drink in the lobby. After the reception, we will be taken upstairs to the festively decorated restaurant to enjoy a served, four-course menu. Just before midnight. we head outside to the roof, where we are offered a drink to toast the new year with, while watching the fireworks over Tórshavn. After the fireworks display, we return to the warmth inside to enjoy coffee and dessert, a ‘kransakøka,’ which is a favored cake with marzipan served on special occasions in the Faroe Islands. At 12:30 a.m. the bar opens, where you can buy drinks and continue the celebration. When you’d like, return to the hotel by taxi, as the walk is about one mile. Overnight at Hotel Hafnia

Wednesday, January 1Depart Tórshavn | Meals: B

After last night’s celebration, sleep in this morning, then get ready for our departure from the Faroe Islands. We will leave the hotel at 12:30 p.m. to travel to the airport for our flight, departing Tórshavn at 2:30 p.m. this afternoon. Our landing in Copenhagen is at 5:35 p.m. On arrival, we will transfer by bus into the city center to check-in at our hotel. Overnight at Scandic Palace Hotel

Thursday, January 2A Day in Copenhagen | Meals: B D

Today is at your leisure to explore Copenhagen. Tonight, we will enjoy a farewell dinner at the hotel, share our adventures of the day, and salute the start of the new year once more! Overnight at Scandic Palace Hotel

Sightseeing at your own pace by land and sea! See Copenhagen’s palaces and museums by bus and then experience the city like the mermaid does from the water, with a cool breeze in your hair and fresh air in your lungs. A small selection of the bus stops: The Little Mermaid, Amalienborg Palace, Nyhavn, Christianhavn, Christianborg Palace, Christiania, and the Opera. A few of the boat stops are: Gammel Strand, Danish Architecture Centre (DAC), The Little Mermaid, and Christianhavn.
• Hop on Hop off Boat | Duration: Valid for 24 hours from first use, $18 per person
Ride through the harbor and canals of Copenhagen with this audio-guided tour. See Copenhagen’s idyllic old houses, new buildings, Christiansborg Palace, the Little Mermaid, and more! Hop on or off whenever you want along the route for the duration of your ticket.
• The Grand Tour | Duration: 1 hour, $15 per person
Departing from Ved Stranden, a short walk from the hotel, this boat tour with a live guide will take you through Copenhagen’s canals passed all that the city has to offer. You will see old and new houses, churches, palaces, and more!
• The Grand Tour and Tivoli | Duration: 1+ hour, $32 per person
A guided tour around the harbor and through the idyllic canals where your guide will tell you about Copenhagen’s beautiful churches, castles, old listed houses, new buildings, and all other sights of interest. The classic harbor tour departs from Nyhavn or Gammel Strand and passes some of Copenhagen’s best sights and attractions. After the canal tour you can enjoy the world-famous Tivoli. With this ticket you skip the line at Tivoli.

Friday, January 3Depart Copenhagen, Denmark | Meals: B

Partake in one last Scandinavian breakfast this morning. We will leave from the hotel at 10:00 a.m. to travel to the airport for our flight, departing Copenhagen at 12:55 p.m. We will stop in Iceland, where we will change planes and arrive back in Minneapolis at 5:05 p.m.
