Day 2Arrive Stockholm, Sweden

Arrive at the airport where you will be met and taken to your hotel, located in central Stockholm. The rest of the day is at leisure to discover Sweden’s capital. Stockholm has many different places to explore with museums, shops, beautiful bridges, and waterways. Early this evening you will meet your guide and fellow travelers then head out for a guided walking tour of the city. Overnight in Stockholm

Day 3Stockholm - Luleå | Meals: B

Tour Stockholm this morning with a local guide. You will first have a coach tour to see more of the 14 islands Stockholm is situated on. You’ll be dropped off at the old town, Gamla Stan, for a stroll through the cobblestone alleyways and quaint shops that are found there. Included as well is a stop by the cathedral of Stockholm, where the royalty of Sweden marry. Once you have finished the tour, you will be taken to the airport for your flight to Luleå. The evening is open to explore this city located on the Gulf of Bothnia. Overnight in Luleå

Day 4Lapland & the Aurora Sky Station | Meals: B

Start your day with a leisurely breakfast or a quick stroll around the city before beginning your journey across northern Sweden. Enjoy the lanscapes of Swedish Lapland as you travel by motor coach to Kiruna, Sweden’s northern most town. Tonight, you will visit Abisko’s Aurora Sky Station where, hopefully, the Northern Lights will greet you. Abisko is one of the best places to view the elusive Aurora Borealis. You will have time to wander through the exhibits, search the skies from the terrace or tower, and warm up with a bit of Fika, the Swedish coffee break. Overnight in Kiruna

Day 5ICEHOTEL & Reindeer | Meals: B L

A visit to the magnificent ICEHOTEL begins your tour of Kiruna’s surroundings. You will get a glimpse of the fantastic artwork carved out of the ice from the nearby Torne River. A stop at the Jukkasjarvi Church allows you time to explore this unique structure which was begun in 1607. Next, it’s off to meet the wonderful reindeer of Lapland, learn about Sámi culture and way of life, shop for handicrafts, and enjoy a delicious, authentic Sámi lunch. Return to your accommodations in Kiruna for an evening at leisure. If you are feeling adventurous, it is possible to pre-book a stay in the ICEHOTEL for tonight. Overnight in Kiruna

Day 6Kiruna - Narvik - Svolvær | Meals: B

Relax as you watch the stunning scenery slide by your window as you travel by train into Norway. Reaching Narvik, you will have time for lunch before resuming the journey to Svolvær, the final stop of the day. Your accommodations are comfortable and charming cottages known as rorbuer. You have the evening to explore this traditional fishing village, perhaps ending with dinner at Borsen Spiseri, featuring their locally sourced, quality cuisine. Overnight in Svolvær

Day 7Viking History | Meals: B L

Immerse yourself in the history of Lofoten with a visit to the Lofotr Viking Museum. You will have a guided tour and time to investigate the exhibitions on your own, including the Viking longhouse. Travel through several small villages, with a stop for lunch, on your way back to Svolvær. The evening is free for you to dine and discover on your own. Overnight in Svolvær

Day 8Fishing Villages & Aurora Hunt | Meals: B

Continue your adventures on the Lofoten Archipelago with visits to towns whose identities have been formed by fishing culture. Entry to the Nord Museum will give you background and explain the significance of this important industry. Along the way, take in the blue gray of the winter waters, the cheerful, warm red of the buildings, and the white of the snow capped peaks. Tonight, you can search for the colors of the Aurora Borealis on an optional Northern Lights hunt. Overnight in Svolvær

Day 9Arctic Capital | Meals: B

Today you will make the long journey even farther north into arctic Norway, traveling to Tromso, known as the Arctic Capital. A trip to Polar Park will introduce you to the animals native to this region including bears, wolves, deer, elk, and, of course, reindeer. Arrive in Tromso and, after checking in, your evening is at leisure. If you would like some fresh air and another chance at the Northern Lights, you may wish to take the cable car ride for an exquisite, late night view over the city. Perhaps the auroras will come out to play. Overnight in Tromsø

Day 10Tromso Tour, Huskies, & Aurora Camp | Meals: B D

After breakfast, enjoy an extensive tour of Tromso’s vibrant city; you’ll visit sights such as the Botanical Gardens, Tromsø University Museum, and Arctic Cathedral while mountains loom in the distance and the water is never far away. The tour’s final stop is at the educational aquarium, Polaria. This evening you will head out of town to meet some Alaskan huskies who will be very excited to see you. Afterward, enjoy a hot meal and time around the fire. Hopefully, you will catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights while enjoying the stillness of the arctic winter. Overnight in Tromso
