Sunday, March 3 - Arrive Oslo, Norway | Meals: in-fl, D

Welcome to Norway! Arrive midday into Oslo Gardermoen Airport. The group will walk the short distance to our airport hotel where you can leave your luggage with reception and enjoy free time for lunch at one of the hotel restaurants until it is time for check-in. Tonight, we will enjoy a welcome dinner as a group at the hotel before settling in to rest up for the start of our Arctic adventure.

Monday, March 4 - Oslo - Svolvær, Lofoten Islands | Meals: B, L

Following breakfast, short walk to Oslo Airport for the group’s late morning flight to Evenes in Northern Norway. On arrival, we will be greeted by our driver and host, who will provide us with an introduction to the beautiful Lofoten Islands. Our drive takes approximately 2 ½ hours, and a lunch pack will be provided to enjoy along the way.

Experience a breathtaking journey through the winding coastal roads, surrounded by majestic mountains and crystal-clear waters. Witness stunning landscapes and unspoiled beauty as we travel to the village of Svolvær, our home for the next three nights. Upon hotel arrival, there will be time for check-in and dinner on your own before the first evening outing.

Immerse yourself in a world of wonder and awe as we embark on a journey to hunt for the mesmerizing Northern Lights in this stunning Arctic destination. With its pristine landscapes, snow-capped mountains, and crystal-clear skies, Lofoten offers the perfect backdrop to witness one of nature’s most spectacular displays. Tuesday, March 5 - Lofoten Highlights & Northern Lights | Meals: B, L

This morning after breakfast, we will be greeted by our host who will guide us through the picturesque landscape of Lofoten for a day filled with historical sites and must-see stops in Kabelvåg, Lyngvær, Hov, and Henningsvær. Relax and enjoy the scenery while you learn about the fishing culture and history of the islands. At Hov beach, for a true Nordic treat, we will be served coffee and traditional lefse. In Henningsvær, enjoy a short fishing village walk with some local tastes of Lofoten. Time will be given to wander on your own and explore the small handcraft shops, galleries, and cafes. Return to Svolvær for time free and dinner on your own.

Tonight, we will have a second chance to catch the awe-inspiring beauty of the Northern Lights. Journey through the rugged and stunning landscape of the north as you chase the elusive aurora borealis. Late evening return to our hotel.

Breakfast at hotel. Morning departure for a return to Evenes Airport and midday flight south to Oslo. Late afternoon check-in at our hotel. Your evening is free to enjoy exploring and dinner on your own.

Friday, March 8 - Oslo sightseeing | Meals: B, D

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, we will be met by our driver and guide for an introductory tour of the capital city of Norway, to include the city’s top attractions, such as Akershus Fortress, Vigeland Sculpture Park, and the Opera House. Our knowledgeable guide will provide fascinating insights into the city’s past and present, giving you a deeper understanding of its unique character.

Your afternoon is free for independent sightseeing. Tonight, the group will gather for a final farewell dinner at a local restaurant.

Saturday, March 9 - Depart Oslo for the US | Meals: B, in-fl

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport for our flight departure from Oslo, arriving back in Minneapolis/St. Paul in the afternoon – or extend your stay in Scandinavia!

The Northern Lights are in the northern sky from September through April but are only visible when the sky is clear and free of clouds. Like many of nature’s wonders, it’s ephemeral – they may be visible, they may appear for a bit and then be gone.
