Saturday, September 14Arrive Oslo, Norway | Meals: D

Welcome to Norway!  Arrive midday at Oslo Gardermoen Airport. Upon arrival, the group will transfer by coach into Norway’s capital city of Oslo. Enjoy free time to settle into our rooms before we gather for a group welcome dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Oslo

Sunday, September 15Norway’s Capital City, Oslo | Meals: B

This morning, our group will enjoy a 3-hour sightseeing tour of Oslo. Experience the rich history and culture of the city while discovering its beautiful landmarks, including the iconic Opera House, the historic Akershus Fortress, the vibrant Aker Brygge waterfront, and much more. Monday, September 16Sognefjord in a Nutshell to Flåm | Meals: B D

Morning coach transfer from our hotel to Oslo Central Station. From there, we will journey by train across the beautiful countryside to the small mountain station of Myrdal. This is the starting point of one of the most famous railways, the Flåmsbana (or Flåm Railway). Descend into the fjord valley with stops at scenic overlooks and waterfalls. Arrive in the small village of Flåm. Your afternoon is free to hike, shop, or visit the local brewery. Tonight, we will gather for dinner at our hotel. The hotel restaurant focuses on seasonal food made from local producers in and around Flåm. Overnight in Flåm

Tuesday, September 17Flåm to Balestrand | Meals: B D

This morning, our group will join a bus tour to Stegastein Lookout, one of the most visited scenic overlooks in all of Norway. Experience panoramic views from 650 meters above the Aurlandsfjord! Mid-afternoon, we will continue by express boat, traveling on the spectacular Sognefjord, also known as the King of the Fjords. This beautiful cruise takes us to the village of Balestrand and the historic Kviknes Hotel for the next two nights. We will dine as a group in the hotel restaurant, which offers stunning fjord views, and focuses on local foods and traditions handed down through generations. Overnight in Balestrand

Wednesday, September 18Free day in Balestrand | Meals: B D

Your day is free to explore Balestrand on your own or to choose from the following optional tours:

RIB Boat to Finnabotn: Escape into the Norwegian wilderness with a visit to Finnabotn and Finnafjorden, which is the most hidden arm of the Sognefjord. The small village Finnabotn is roadless, no mobile service and no noises except waterfalls. During the tour, you will see the majestic Kvinnefossen waterfall and the famous 22-meter high statue of the Viking hero Fridtjof. There will also be several stops along the way, including Kvamsøy Island where you can see the medieval church built in the 13th century. Price: $153 per person

Fjord and Glacier Tour to Fjærland: Enjoy the wonderful fjord journey by boat from Balestrand to Fjærland, passing tiny villages, waterfalls and steep mountains. Fjærland is situated where the Bøyabreen glacier meets the fjord. Upon arriving in Fjærland, you will take a shuttle bus to the base of glacier and the Norwegian Glacier Museum. At the museum you will learn about how glaciers have shaped the landscape of Norway. After this you will take the boat back to Balestrand. Price: $148 per person

This evening, we will be treated to a visit to Ciderhuset, the local cider producer in Balestrand. We will start with a cider tasting of 5 samples while we learn about the history of cider production in the Sognefjord area followed by a group dinner. Overnight in Balestrand

Thursday, September 19Balestrand to Bergen | Meals: B

After breakfast, morning departure from Balestrand as we continue by express boat, cruising the remainder of the length of the Sognefjord on to Bergen. Arrival at mid-day with the afternoon and evening free to sightsee and dine independently. Overnight in Bergen

Friday, September 20Charming Bergen | Meals: B D

This morning, we will explore the picturesque city of Bergen on a 2-hour guided walking tour featuring the highlights that Bergen is known for: stunning mountain scenery, colorful houses, UNESCO-listed Bryggen Wharf, and charming fish market. Your afternoon is free for independent sightseeing. Tonight, the group will gather for a final farewell dinner at the hotel restaurant, an evening filled with delicious food and cherished memories. Saturday, September 21Return to the US | Meals: B

Group transfer to the airport for our departure from Bergen, arriving back into Minneapolis/St. Paul in the afternoon – or option to extend your stay in Scandinavia.
