This 15-day adventure allows you to experience the best of China, as well as Yunnan area and the remarkable people who live there. Yunnan takes pride in its rich natural and cultural resources; the most attractive is the folklore and culture of the areas 25 ethnic minority groups. However, no trip to China would be complete without experiencing the bustling city of Beijing, seeing the Terra Cotta Warriors in person, or gazing upon the famous Great Wall of China that stretches over 13,000 miles.

Day 1Arrive Beijing, China

Arrive Beijing, China’s capital city. Meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Beijing

Day 2Tiananmen Square, Imperial Palace and Summer Palace | Meals: B L

Visit Tiananmen Square, in the heart of the city, and walk to the Imperial Palace in the Forbidden City, home to China’s emperors for more than 500 years. Visit the Summer Palace with its exquisite gardens and perfect views. On the way back view the Bird’s Nest and Water Cube sports arenas from the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Overnight in Beijing

Day 3Temple of Heaven and the Great Wall of China | Meals: B L

Visit the Temple of Heaven. Continue to the Great Wall, which, like a gigantic dragon, winds up and down across deserts, grasslands, mountains, and plateaus, stretching approximately 13,000 miles from east to west of China. Overnight in Beijing

Day 4Old Beijing, the Hutongs and Travel to Xi'an | Meals: B L

Explore Beijing’s Old Living Quarter, the Hutongs, climb up the old Drum Tower for a birds-eye view of Old Beijing. Fly to Xi’an in the afternoon and spend the rest of your day at your leisure. Overnight in Xi’an

Day 5Terra Cotta Warriors | Meals: B L D

The Terra Cotta Warriors are Xian’s greatest and most important attraction. The first emperor of the Qin Dynasty ordered the making of the warriors, and they are a testament to his power and megalomania. Enjoy a dumpling dinner this evening. Overnight in Xi’an

Day 6Kunming, the Golden Temple, and Flower Market | Meals: B L

Fly to Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province. Visit the Golden Temple, a well-known Taoist temple and see the Flowers and Birds Market. Kunming is known as the “Spring City” because of its mild climate year round and also as a city of flowers. You can find various kinds of flowers from all over the world in the market, as well as lovely golden fish. Enjoy Pass Bridge Rice Noodles, a local specialty, for lunch. Overnight in Kunming

Day 7The Stone Forest | Meals: B L

Walk through the “Stone Forest”, a massive landscape of karst formation where nature has carves stones in the figure of plants, animals and humans. Fly to Shangri-La in the late afternoon. Overnight in Shangri-La

Day 8Paradise On Earth | Meals: B L

A full day to explore paradise-on-earth described in the famous novel Lost Horizon by the British author James Hilton. Visit Songzanlin Temple, the largest and the most famous Tibetan Buddhist Monastery in Yunnan, full of golden statues of Buddha, golden lamps, Tibetan texts, silver censers, and more. Walk around the beautiful Bitahai and Shudu Lakes. Overnight in Shangri-La

Day 9Drive to Lijiang | Meals: B L

Drive to Lijiang through beautiful scenery. Along the way visit one of China most beautiful gorge, the famous Tiger Leaping Gorge. Marvel at the stunning First Bend of the Yangtze River, and then arrive in Lijiang. Overnight in Lijiang

Day 10Yuhu Village | Meals: B L

Visit Yuhu Village, located in the south of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. You will have time to walk around this lovely Naxi minority village with its unique stone houses and Naxi women dressed in traditional dress. Enjoy the “Impression Lijiang” performance. Visit Dayan Town, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage town, and while wandering along the famous Square Street you will be struck by the peaceful surroundings. Climb up Lion Hill to Wan Gu Pagoda for a birds-eye view of the town at sunset. Overnight in Lijiang

Day 11Baisha Village | Meals: B

Visit Baisha Village and the well-known Baisha Murals. These murals combine the Han, Tibet and Naxi cultures, and are a wonderful art form of minorities in west Yunnan, vividly unfolding the life of the minority people. Visit Black Dragon Pool and Dongba Museum. Tonight, enjoy a Naxi classical music concert. Overnight in Lijiang

Day 12Travel to Shanghai | Meals: B

Morning free, noon flight to Shanghai. Rest of afternoon and evening is at leisure. Overnight in Shanghai

Day 13Shanghai Museum and Old Town Bazaar | Meals: B

Visit Shanghai Museum featuring ancient Chinese art, and see the Elegant Chinese Garden, Yuyuan. Enjoy other sights of Shanghai including Old Town Bazaar, the famous waterfront of Bund, which has been regarded as the symbol of Shanghai for hundreds of years. Overnight in Shanghai

Day 14Explore Shanghai | Meals: B

Today is a free day to explore Shanghai on your own. Overnight in Shanghai

Day 15Depart Shanghai | Meals: B

After breakfast, you are transferred to the airport for your onward arrangements – or extend your stay in China!
