Do something exotic this winter…Spend the night in a hotel made entirely of ice and snow in the land of the Northern Lights. Each winter the ICEHOTEL has a new design and new rooms, created with 30,000 tons of snow and 10,000 tons of crystal clear ice from the nearby Torne River. The temperature in the ICEHOTEL ranges between –4 and –9 C, depending on the temperature outside and the number of overnight guests.

This is a suggested itinerary, Borton Overseas can add extra days in Stockholm and/or Jukkasjarvi.

Day 1/ Departure from the US     

Day 2/ Arrival in Stockholm, Sweden – Kiruna - Jukkasjarvi    
Arrive Stockholm, and continue with a short flight to Kiruna. Transfer included to Jukkasjarvi by bus, where you will check in the Icehotel. Spend the rest of the day exploring the hotel and its facilities. 
Have dinner this evening and then…..

Your first night will be spent in the ICEHOTEL, where you will sleep in a specially made sleeping bag on a bed made of ice covered with reindeer skins and a sleeping mat for insulation.

Day 3/ Jukkasjarvi   B D
In the morning, a hot drink will be brought to you, then you can enjoy a sauna, a shower and a breakfast buffet served in Vardshuset. Today you have the option of renting cross-country skis, snow shoes, ice fishing equipment or a traditional Spark (kick sled) to explore the immediate area. Depart this evening on a guided snowmobile tour (included) in search of the Northern Lights. Dine on traditional Sami dishes and end the evening with a slide show about the “Aurora Borealis” and learn some interesting information about the Northern Lights. Transfer back to the Icehotel’s chalet for overnight.

The chalet has two separate bedrooms and 4 beds in total, bunk-bed arrangement. There is a sitting room with kitchenette, TV and telephone, bathroom with shower and toilet.

Day 4/ Jukkasjarvi - Kiruna - Stockholm   B
Breakfast this morning at the Vardshuset and then transfer back to the Kiruna airport by bus for your flight to Stockholm. Transfer independently from the airport to the city center on the Arlanda express. Overnight in Stockholm

Day 5/ Stockholm   B
Breakfast at your hotel, then day free to explore Stockholm. Overnight in Stockholm

Day 6/ Departure from Stockholm  B
Breakfast at your hotel. Transfer independently back to the airport for your return flight to the US - or extend your stay in Scandinavia!
