Far away from the city lights, Kakslauttanen is 300km north of the Arctic Circle. Spend a night in an igloo made of snow, under the stars in a glass igloo, or in a Finnish cabin complete with a private sauna! Fall asleep looking at the stars, an perhaps see the Northern Lights!

Many activities are available, including cross-country skiing, a reindeer or snowmobile safari, dogsledding adventures, and an Icebreaker cruise!

Day 1/ Arrival in Ivalo, Finland     D
Transfer by bus from Ivalo airport to hotel and Igloo village Kakslauttanen. Dinner and overnight in first-class log cabins with private facilities, kitchenette, fireplace and private sauna!

Day 2/ Dogsled Adventure     B D 
Buffet breakfast is served in the beautiful log restaurant, located within walking distance from your accommodation. After breakfast, meet a team of friendly husky dogs who are eager to take you on a dogsled adventure. These northern dogs are perfectly suited to harsh Arctic conditions and enjoy pulling the sled to their hearts’ content. Duration of the excursion is 2-2.5 hours. Dinner and overnight in log cabin

Day 3/ Reindeer Excursion   B D
After breakfast, enjoy your excursion to a local reindeer farm, where you will learn about the culture and lifestyle of the Sami (Lapp) people. You will also have the chance to try a ride in a reindeer sled.
Duration of the excursion: 2-2.5 hours. Dinner and overnight in log cabin

Day 4/ Kakslauttanen & Igloo Overnight   B D
Today is a day at leisure to relax and enjoy the beautiful, peaceful surroundings, try cross-country skiing or ice-fishing. Or, take an optional excursion down to Kemi to experience a real icebreaker.
This day excursion from Kakslauttanen also includes a visit to see Santa Claus at the Santa Claus Village and the crossing of the Arctic Circle. Evening return to Kakslauttanen. Dinner and overnight at Snow Hotel in an Igloo made of Snow*

Day 5/ Departure from Ivalo     B
After the night in an Igloo it is time for a Sauna. The saunas and showers next to the Igloo Village are open every morning. From the sauna it is also possible to dip to a hole in the ice in the river. What a way to start your final day in Kakslauttanen. Transfer back to the airport by bus in connection with individual departures.
