The first permanent camp in the Makgadikgadi Pans, Jack’s Camp allows guests to fully experience Botswana’s Kalahari Desert. Unbelievable numbers of migratory birds flock to the pans, and the grasslands swarm with a living mantle of zebra and wildebeest. You are almost guaranteed up close encounters with the docile brown hyena and the ever-entertaining meerkats. This is an experience that will be cherished for a lifetime!

Itinerary

Day 1Arrive Maun, Botswana | Meals: L D

Depart Maun via small aircraft, which services the camp airstrip. The scenic flight takes about one hour. Upon arrival, you will be met by your guide and safari vehicle and transferred to the camp for a briefing. After you have had time to get settled, meet your guide for afternoon tea and head out for your first game drive. Return in time for a refreshing shower and dinner under an unbelievable sky. Days 2-3Exploring the Makgadikgadi Pans | Meals: B L D

Explore and experience the Central Kalahari. One of the last great wilderness areas, preserved from the ravages of man by its elemental severity. Full of extraordinary creatures, and perfectly adapted to its climatic whims – Meerkats, Kalahari lion and cheetah all abound in this desolate realm. It is also a complete desert experience focusing on species unique to the area such as gemsbuck, the endangered brown hyena and springbuck, as well as the geology, archaeology and anthropology of the Kalahari and Makgadikgadi. Morning and afternoon game drives, Bushmen experiences, game walks and activities are offered based on the season. Overnight at Jack’s Camp

Day 4Game Activity and Depart Maun, Botswana | Meals: B

Morning activity and breakfast before your transfer back to the airstrip. Light aircraft flight back to Maun for your onward arrangements.
